Saturday, November 8th, 2008
Registration, meet-up, warm-up: 1pm to 2pm Tournament start: 2pm Entry fee: $5 Prizes available: 1st place cash ($2/head) 2nd place cash (1$/head) Case of JOLT energy drink BONUS prize: 1 hour of Console Theater time to the people who have the "most entertaining" match during the Swiss rounds. Tournament Format: Swiss style pairings followed by Top 4 single elimination (plus consolation match for 3rd place) Rounds per match: best of 5 Time: 60 Control settings must be done before the match begins. No pausing or PS button usage are allowed during the match. Single Elim matches will be best two out of three games. Vader is still not allowed. Last tournament, the winner of the "most entertaining" match was a Talim mirror match. There was lots of flipping and falcon punches. I laughed so hard I almost wet myself. Namco Bandai has officially confirmed this long running rumor... On October 23rd, a download will be available on both systems that will bring Darth Vader to the 360 version, and Yoda to the PS3 version respectively!

Have him on my 360 now but that's besides the point.
Tournaments should be at basically the lowest common denominator, and the argument is probably going to be that one has to spend $5 more than someone else to play, see, and practice against the character. Sure its a weak argument in my mind, and I'm completely on the fence with it myself. Its really up to the individual whether or not to allow him now, since he is available for everyone willing to shell out an extra $5 (and have an internet connection too.. that'll find its way into the conflict). I'm cool with him being added. I'm cool with him not. |

If we download Yoda, I'll change the rules. However, if that happens (I don't know if it will or not as of right now) I'll wait to change the rules until the next tournament.
